A Warm Welcome
Welcome to Kohlhase Insurance! Get to know us a little better here, in our first newsletter!
Our doors were first opened in 1978, by Owner and Founder, Lee Kohlhase. His mission was to protect and provide valuable insurance plans to Arizona residents, by building a Full-Service Independent Insurance Agency, that would carry on his legacy for many generations after his retirement.
In 1998, Lee's daughter, Lori, joined the agency and dove head-first into Commercial Lines, learning everything that she could. Through her hard work over the years, she earned her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designations and is now the “go-to” advisor for anything Business Insurance! Since Lee’s retirement, Lori now runs the agency, with the goal to continue focusing and growing Commercial Lines, but we like to keep her on her toes with Personal lines, as well.
Lee always wanted his agency to stay within the family and in 2019, he got another wish granted as both of Lori's daughters have joined the agency! Her oldest, Cassie, joined in 2019 with the goal to help take care of the HR and bookkeeping tasks; providing Lori with extra time to focus on what she loves; helping her clients find the coverage they need! Then in early 2022, Lori’s youngest, Kendra, joined as our marketing specialist, handling all things social media and events, and is helping to ensure Kohlhase continues for many years to come!
As we continue to grow over the years, we appreciate our customers who have become an extension to our family and who have been on this journey with us.
This Month's Discussion
Property Claims:
Whether it’s your home or business, knowing your coverages and deductibles are important.
In the event your property suffers damage, the first thing you need to do, is make sure you take the necessary steps to prevent further damage.
For example,
- If your roof suffers damage from wind/hail etc. and you notice it’s beginning to leak do everything possible to prevent inside water damage.
- If you notice a significant water leak inside your home or business, turn the main water line off. This will prevent water damage that can lead to mold and many other expensive repairs.
It is always a good idea to get an estimate or two before placing a claim. In some cases, you may be able to have the damage repaired for less than your deductible amount.
Reducing the frequency (or number) of claims placed to insurance companies will eventually help lower the increases in premium we’ve all been experiencing these past few years.
